About The Author

JJ Brobbey was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. She now lives outside of New York City. She is married and has two sons. Faith and family are essential to JJ. JJ believes it is vital for children to see themselves in stories, as she doesn't recall having that experience growing up. There is a Bike In My Bed is JJ's first book. Look out for a series of books about the adventures of Meatball and Bern.

"Becoming a mother sparked a solid urge to conquer my dreams. My sons became my inspiration, and I also wanted to be an inspiration to them. I want to help them live life bravely. I refused to live in fear while teaching them to become courageous. Fear had allowed me to leave my first completed children's book on my laptop for five years. Finally, I decided it was time to live fearlessly and publish it. 
 
I have always loved things that involved creating. Writing became a creative outlet. I have enjoyed writing since I was a little girl. It started with writing poetry. There is a Bike In My Bed resulted from my wanting to memorialize my father, who died in 2010. I was the epitome of a daddy's girl and was devastated when my father died. After the tears dried, I thought of him and smiled. I had many funny, wonderful memories of him. One of my favorite memories was when I came home from a church picnic, and my father surprised me with a bike in my bed."
